With 60,000 visitors a year, the Road Traffic Office, which has been outsourced from the district hall to the Ringstraße in Leer, is the busiest part of the district administration.

The registration office takes care of the registration and deregistration of vehicles, allocates short-term license plates or registers technical changes. The employees at the driving license office are the contact persons for issuing, withdrawing and exchanging driving licenses. The Road Traffic Office is also responsible for processing around 50,000 warnings and fines per year for traffic violations.

Traffic regulation and control measures such as signage for roadworks and events on the roads, passenger transport and large and heavy goods vehicles are handled in the Ringstrasse.
